Particularly popular in summer, when it's easier to soak up the sun, you can moor your boat in what was once a 17th-century guardhouse to get to Hannekes Boom.
Once there, grab a drink and sway your toes on a waterside terrace overlooking NEMO and the Amsterdam skyline. In the evening, the location is perfect to dance the night away!

Club NL
Club NL's interior is dominated by red velvet, dark woods and nude drawings. It has attracted celebrities such as Mick Jagger and Naomi Campbell.
The emphasis is on house and techno music, which attracts the best DJs and people to the dance floor.
Try the iconic drink, The Doodoo, with vodka, Tabasco, an olive, lime and a secret ingredient.

Amsterdam dance bar: Proeflokaal Arendsnest
Proving that there's more to local beer than Heineken, this old-fashioned tribute to Dutch beers offers over 50 different beers on draught and over 100 in bottle, all made in the Netherlands.
Amid paneled walls, copper pipes and gleaming beer taps, you can also sample Dutch ciders, liqueurs and whiskies, as well as over 40 varieties of juniper, the emblematic Dutch spirit.

Depending on the night, this elegant two-storey nightclub offers :

Dance bar in Amsterdam: Supperclub
Part bar, part restaurant and part performance space, you can enjoy an unconventional five-course meal at this innovative nightclub, which also offers cocktails and burlesque.
You can watch the show from the living room sofas, or head upstairs for a breathtaking view of the belly dancers, drag queens and aerial artists performing downstairs.

Melkweg
One of the city's leading concert halls is housed in a vast industrial-style space that was once a dairy factory.
Named after the group of counter-culture artists who founded it in 1970, Melkweg is now a world-renowned concert hall featuring :
- Three music rooms
- An exhibition space
- A café in the back
- A cinema in the attic
Headliners such as Prince and Lady Gaga have performed on its biggest stage, while the more intimate Oude Zaal has hosted internationally renowned DJs.

Amsterdam dance bar: Paradiso
A nightclub that was once a 19ᵉ century church and a 60s hippie squat, and has grown to host musical icons such as the Rolling Stones, Adele and Lady Gaga.
A smaller room hosts independent bands and local artists. Fashion, dance, poetry and other creative events round out the action.

Escape
Dance clubs come and go in Amsterdam, but the Escape prides itself on being a permanent fixture of the city's nightlife.
