The weather in Amsterdam in October is very changeable and showers are frequent. I strongly recommend that you bring an umbrella and semi-waterproof shoes in case of rain.
Average temperatures are highs of 15 degrees and lows of 7 degrees. And if you're visiting the Dutch capital in the hope of enjoying the best autumn colors, be aware that the exact moment when the leaves change and fall is different from year to year.
Leaves generally start to change color towards the end of September. The phenomenon continues until October and finally falls from the trees in early November.
What to do in Amsterdam in October
Amsterdam is easily one of the most beautiful places to visit in Europe in autumn, thanks to the abundance of beautiful autumn foliage reflected on the calm canals. For the best photo opportunities, I recommend a visit to the Jordaan district.

For those wishing to see beautiful autumn foliage in a park, it's worth noting that Amsterdam's largest park is that of Vondelpark. The green space is home to a plethora of footpaths, bridges and bike paths and even an open-air theater.
Make yourself comfortable in a pretty café
Whether you're looking for a local café or want to try a beer, Amsterdam has no shortage of wonderful bars and cafés where you can spend time with friends, study or meet new people!
Int'Aepjen is a typically Dutch wooden bar where local beers are served in a traditional setting.
Reasonably priced drinks can be purchased here, where sailors once traded monkeys for drinks!
Discover Amsterdam's hidden gems
Hidden, secret and so original, there are lots of things to discover. unusual things to do in Amsterdam. There's always something unusual to discover, even for the most demanding travelers.
