Water park around Amsterdam : article summary
Water park around Amsterdam: Walibi Holland
Walibi, one of the biggest amusement parks in the Netherlands, is home to over 30 attractions. On site, you'll find slides, roller coasters and many other fun rides.
The park is perfect for a family day out. You can also stay for a weekend, as it also has excellent on-site accommodation. Their pretty cottages can accommodate up to eight people, perfect for large families.
If you have an even larger group, the park can accommodate you in the Walibi villa, which can accommodate up to 16 people.
A park a few kilometers from Amsterdam
Walibi is also a great option for those looking to party. The park hosts several events throughout the year, including a Halloween Fright Night and Walibierfest : a big party with live music, cold beer and "kilos of confetti".
The park is located near Biddinghuizen in Flevoland and can be reached by car or public transport. It is about a 45-minute drive from Zwolle, or an hour's drive from center of Amsterdam.
By public transport, visitors can take the Walibi Express bus from Harderwijk station.
The Tiki pool
How about a water park in a vacation park? The Tiki pool is a giant water park located in the Duinrell vacation park.
The park is both indoor and outdoor, so it's perfect even if the weather isn't. The indoor area includes the Playa water park for children, with four slides and a heated play pool for the little ones.
The real selling point of the water park are the 21 unique waterslides that can be used both inside and outside the park.
Duinrell is located in Wassenaar and is within walking distance of the town. For those coming from further afield, Wassenaar and Duinrell Holiday Park are easily accessible by public transport.
Aqua Mexicana
Perhaps the most beautiful water park in the Netherlands, Aqua Mexicana is decorated entirely in Mexican style. Colorful verandas overlook a beautiful beach, while palm trees offer protection from the sun.
If that doesn't appeal to you, then maybe the park's 10 slides, subtropical pool and whirlpool will do the trick. If, after all that, you're still not tempted, you can head for the giant bubble bath. It's enough to keep you entertained for hours!
Aqua Mexicana is located in the extensive Slagharen theme park and complex. It is about a half-hour's drive from Zwolle, but is also accessible by bus from Hardenberg, Coevorden and Hoogeveen.
Aqua Mundo and AquaPark Splash
Port Zeeland, on the Brouwersdam just south of Rotterdamis the site of one of the Dutch Center Parcs. However, this Center Parcs is special in that it houses not one, but two water parks: Aqua Mundo and Aquapark Splash.
Aqua Mundo
Every Center Parcs has an Aqua Mundo, and they are recognized as some of the biggest water parks in the country.
The tropical theme park at Center Parcs Port Zeeland offers a wide variety of features, including a wave pool, water games room, numerous waterslides, rapids and foam pool.
The park also offers a wide range of activities, where visitors can learn to swim, surf and drive.
Center Parcs is about an hour's drive from Rotterdam. You can also reach the site by public transport via the metro from Rotterdam, followed by a bus. If you're coming from the south or east, you can take a bus from Goes station.
Parc Aquapark Splash
Center Parcs de Port Zélande is located right next to Aquapark Splash. The best way to describe Aquapark Splash is as a huge inflatable obstacle course, right on the marina. Honestly, words can't do this place justice!
On site, you'll discover a real assault course where every mistake will land you in the water. Enough to keep you and your children entertained for hours.
If you'd like to spend an afternoon or a day at a water park around Amsterdam, I recommend you visit one of these places. You'll discover places full of activities for the whole family. What's more enjoy your vacation in the Netherlands.
