Founded in 1838, Artis Royal Zoo is still as enchanting as it was nearly two centuries ago.
The Amsterdam Zoological Garden is not only an oasis of peace in the heart of a fast-paced city, it's also a haven of peace and quiet. for some 700 animal species and 200 tree varietiesmany of which are on the brink of extinction.
Amsterdam Artis is also one of the few zoos in Europe to have so many listed buildings on its grounds: the Grand Museum (built in 1855), the unique Library building (built in 1867) and the Aquarium (dating from 1882).
How much do tickets to the Artis zoo cost?
To visit the site, you will need :
- 21,50 € standard rate for people aged 10 to 64
- 18 € for children aged 3 to 9
- Free for toddlers (0 to 2 years)

What are the opening hours of Amsterdam Zoo?
To get to the Artis Zoo in Amsterdam, you must respect the following timetable:
- From March 1 to October 31, the zoo open from 9 am to 6 pm.
- From November 1 to February 29, opening hours are from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
During the summer (June, July and August), Saturday evenings are open until sunset, with a special program called ZOOmeravonden with children's entertainment, music, guided tours and more.
