Heineken is the best-known beer brand in the Netherlands and the 2nd largest brewer in the world. This fun experience lets you discover its history, the brewing methods used to produce it and taste the sweet brew during a final tasting session.
We're having fun, a multilingual audio guide tells you some of Heineken's tastiest anecdotes, and you're in for a real treat. To make matters worse, the tour takes place in Heineken's first brewery, in an authentic red brick building.

Brouwerij 't IJ, Amsterdam's favourite brewery

Presentation of Brouwerij 't IJ
Familiar to everyone in the city with an interest in beer, this brewery is distinguished from the others by the building in which it is housed: a traditional millwhich can be spotted from afar. In front of it, the industrial-style brasserie awaits you for a tasting session that could well go on forever!
The facility offers classics (lIjwit, la Zatte Triple, la Natte, la Calypso IPA) and seasonal beers (up to 12°!) or limited editions. A treat for connoisseurs, to be paired with boards of local sausages and cheeses.
Good to know If this Brouwerij 't IJ brewery is located in the east of the city, near the Zoo Artisthere is another. It is located at Vondelpark 5, 1071 AA Amsterdam, a stone's throw from the Vondelpark !
Oedipus, beer and color!

The De 7 Deugden brasserie is a beautiful establishment, both in its structure and in its concept. It employs workers in needwho put their heart and soul into producing and serving delicious beers. For that reason alone, it's well worth the trip!
The beers are exquisite, you can visit the production areas (with or without a guide, and with or without a tasting) and, best of all, you can make your own beer!
Yes, you read that right: De 7 Deugden offers a workshop every Saturday from 11:00 am to 5:00 pm, for those who would like to devote a day to complete beer-making. You'll learn all about yeasts, fermentation processes and flavors. Your beer will be ready in 1 month, so...you'll have to think about coming back to Amsterdam!

If the establishment itself is already unusual, since it takes place in a a former garageBut it's the tasty beers that bring us to this local brewery.
The beverages, served by the bottle or from the tap, are a treat for the taste buds, and you can take advantage of the terrace to mingle with Amsterdam beer lovers.
You can take part in a complete tasting (for groups of 4 or more) or simply sip the beers on the à la carte menu. The staff are pleasant, the clientele young, and concerts are organized regularly.
If you're stopping off in the southern part of Amsterdam (see the interactive map), it would be a shame not to make a stop here!
The De Prael brewery and its social project

Introducing the De Prael brewery
This microbrewery is located in the De Wallen district (also called Red light district !) and it shines in many ways.
Firstly, it carries with it a social project for people in need. By coming here, you'll be making a valuable contribution to the local community.
Then there's the De Prael brewery, which offers beers, platters of Dutch cheeses or local charcuterie, and sandwiches for refreshment. The perfect place to take a break and recharge your batteries between visits to coffeeshop !
Note that most of the beers on offer here are unpasteurized, which gives them a special aroma, waiting to be discovered!
