At Sallandse Heuvelrug, you can see magnificent fields of purple heather in bloom at the end of August, and it's well worth the detour.
Here, you'll find fields as far as the eye can see. This is an exceptional show to be seen at least once in your life. When visiting Amsterdam, don't miss the opportunity to make a detour and visit this place.
Van Haaster nursery
Here, you'll discover beautiful red flowers native to tropical climates. They are grown in the Netherlands by Canna and Perenial Nursery Van Haaster.
They bloom from June to October, and they're not the only flowers you'll see at the nursery.
The plant offers guided tours, and I recommend that you visit to book your visit.
Flower fields in Amsterdam: De Groene Bollenschuur
These beautiful fields are almost always in bloom, with rows of different flowers to enjoy.
You can even stay here. De Groene Bollenschuur is a bed and breakfast, and the rooms are charming. The alliums bloom in early June and are spectacular.
Sassenheim
If you want to see fields of magnificent daffodils, Sassenheim is your best choice. These plants bloom from mid-March to mid-April.
It lies on the border between North and South Holland. On site, you'll find plenty of cycle paths to explore the region.
It's well worth a day's visit, and you can also cycle past Keukenhof to the flower fields of Sassenheim and Lisse.
Flower fields in Amsterdam: Drenthe
From mid-June to early August, you can see fields of beautiful poppies growing in Drenthe. But that's not the only reason to visit.
The national park is vast and incredible, with plenty of space for everyone to enjoy. walk in the middle of nature and relax.
The Granma's farm
This superb little lavender farm is located in the small village of Stroe, only an hour from Amsterdam. You can smell the fragrant scent of lavender as you approach.
It's a wonderful place to spend an afternoon and there's a lovely little tea room where you can sit and relax.
What's more, you can take lavender home with you, and if you dry it, you'll be able to enjoy this lovely fragrance all year round.
Amsterdam Bos
There are over 400 cherry trees in Amsterdamse Bos. These were donated in Amsterdam by a club of plant enthusiasts in 2000.
Each of the trees has a name, and this stunning park is the best place in Europe to see the magnificent Japanese cherry trees in bloom.
Spend an afternoon at Keukenhof
Of course, when you think of flower fields in Amsterdam, you automatically think of Keukenhof. Just outside Amsterdam.
