These are very well hidden and it may take you some time to find them. Old theater posters in the corridors reflect the heritage of the neighborhood, where Amsterdam's famous liberal culture was born, showing music halls and theater and artists' cafés that thrived here in the early 19ᵉ century.

Ask in advance if you'd like a room with a bath, as most only have a shower.

I'd also advise you to reserve your place at the restaurant. As this is a very popular restaurant, you may not get a table without a reservation.

For brunches and seasonal teas featuring many regional products, head to Gartine. Restaurant Anna serves modern European cuisine in elegant surroundings. This is in stark contrast to its location in the heart of the red light district.

Finally, the gourmet bistro Kaagman & Kortekaasa creative combination of traditional techniques and surprising ingredients, is a must for meat lovers.

Drinks in the hotel bar or outside
