The Museum of Modern Art in Amsterdam: at a glance
Visit Stedelijk Museum was founded in 1874 and is located at Museumplein next to the Van Gogh museum and Rijksmuseum. After a nine-year renovation, it reopened in 2012 with an impressive new wing known as the Bathtub.
That's why this district is so popular with visitors to Amsterdam. You can visit three very important museums, all within easy reach of each other.
If you decide to visit all three museums in one day, make sure you have very comfortable shoes, as there are plenty to see in each of them.
Buy your tickets for the Stedelijk
Tickets for the Stedelijk Museum are available online at €20 for adults. Students can purchase tickets for €10. Tickets are valid for one year from the date of purchase.
If you have a valid ticket, you can reserve a time for a later date.
The only free ticket is for children and young people up to the age of 18, but they must be accompanied by a paying adult.

The Stedelijk Museum is located in the south of Amsterdam (Amsterdam Zuid) between the Rijksmuseum and the Van Gogh museum. Museumplein is an important place for culture and art lovers.

Is it possible to take photos at the Museum of Modern Art in Amsterdam?
Photography without flash or tripod is currently permitted at the Stedelijk Museum for personal use only. However, when browsing their website, there are conflicting instructions on whether or not to take photos.
Personally, I think it's likely that you'll be allowed to take photos or videos for personal use, if you don't linger in an area or cause an obstruction.
When is the best time to visit the Museum of Modern Art?
During high season, it's probably best to book your tickets before 11am and after 3pm, if you want to avoid the museum's busiest hours. The Stedelijk Museum website suggests that mornings are always less busy.

Ten Good Food Cafe is on the left-hand side of the entrance, under the wing of the Stedelijk Museum. The café serves breakfast, lunch or dinner, and there's a lovely terrace where you can sit and enjoy a cup of tea or coffee.
It's the ideal place to spend a relaxing moment after visiting the region's various museums.

The store has the same opening hours as the museum. On site, you'll find many unique objects that you can take back to your loved ones.
