Pulitzer Hotel in Amsterdam: article summary
Pulitzer Hotel: in brief
The Pulitzer Hotel is made up of twenty-five authentic Amsterdam canal houses from the 17th and 18th centuries.
Almost the entire block was rebuilt and restored to create the hotel, which today resembles a kind of labyrinth.
The incredible maze of corridors leads to the Pulitzer's 230 rooms and suites.
Small but typical rooms
If you love the historic atmosphere of Amsterdam, this is the place for you. Your room can look small and your bathroom even smaller.
The wooden structure of the house may look a little different from what you're used to, but this is your chance to live in an authentic Dutch canal house.
Here you can enjoy rooms with authentic parquet floors, exposed beams and Dutch tiled bathrooms.
The rooms are also equipped with modern amenities. You'll find :
- Bedside lamps
- A wifi connection
- Flat-screen TV
- Minibar in some rooms
Fittings tailored to your needs
Like almost every old house in the city center, Hotel Pulitzer has several courtyards and a well-kept interior garden.
A restaurant, café and bar complete the indoor atmosphere. Dutch specialities are served on site. If you don't want to leave your room, you can enjoy your meal in your room.
And, as in the past, the Pulitzer has its own quay on the Prinsengracht and its own riverboat (built in 1902).
The rest of the Pulitzer is modern. Its staff works hard and the hotel has :
- A state-of-the-art, fully-equipped fitness room
- An interesting modern art gallery
- A business center
Pulitzer Hotel: a location in the heart of Amsterdam
The Pulitzer is located in the heart of the old town, between the Keizersgracht and the Prinsengracht. You don't even need to ask how long you'll have to walk to the old center. In fact, you're right in the middle of it.
As you're right in the center, you'll have quick access to most of the city's attractions. You'll find :
- Visit Dam square about 8 minutes' walk
- Visit Anne Frank House 5 minutes or less
- Amsterdam's major museums within a 15-minute walk of your accommodation
Last but not least Schiphol airport is just 18 kilometers from your home. So you can quickly get back to the city center after your flight. If you wish, you can book a shuttle directly to the hotel.
The Pulitzer in Amsterdam is a comfortable, informal hotel with an exceptional historical character. If you're looking for a comfortable place to spend your vacation, I can't recommend the Pulitzer Hotel enough. You'll find authentic rooms that will show you the true face of Amsterdam life.
