Visit the famous red light district

Visit Red Light District is not for everyone, but if you're curious, I'd recommend a visit. After all, it's certainly one of the most popular things to do in Amsterdam at night.

Once it gets dark, the red window lights and neon signs of adult stores illuminate the streets and give it a festive atmosphere.

During your stay, you can spend time on the canals, admiring the shop windows or visiting one of the quirky stores or museums in the area.

However, I suggest you refrain from going there after 1am, because the mood changes around this time.

Where to go out in Amsterdam: visit a museum

If you'd like to get your cultural fix in the evening, the Van Gogh museum and the Stedelijk Museum open until 9 p.m. on Fridays.

The Eye Film Museum opens until 11 pm on Fridays and Saturdays. These night-time hours are only available during the summer months. However, there's even more to do in Amsterdam at night if you're visiting in November, it's Museum Night.

Amsterdam's nightlife is incredible. There are so many clubs and bars in Amsterdam that you can really find one that suits you.

Amsterdam's nightlife atmosphere is quite different from place to place, mainly due to the eclectic crowds it attracts.

It's a pretty unique mix of people, but it leads to an interesting dynamic in Amsterdam at night.

If you go to the tourist areas, Leidseplein or Rembrandtplein, you're bound to find clubs full of tourists and quite noisy. What's more, in these areas, entrance fees and drinks are much more expensive.

Where to go out in Amsterdam: enjoy the Festival of Lights

If you visit Amsterdam in winter, there's one thing you can't miss: the Amsterdam Festival of Lights. This is where Amsterdam's artistic and creative side really shines.

The canals throughout the city are lit up by amazing light structures created by local artists.

You can attend Amsterdam's Festival of Lights for free by bike or by car. by walking around the town to find all the different facilities.

Getting to the top of the A'dam tower

At night, the tower is undoubtedly more beautiful than during the day! From the 20ᵉ floor, at the top of the tower, you'll have a panoramic view of Amsterdam after dark, and you'll enjoy the view while sipping a cocktail.

All the little canals below look like little sparks, and the city seems magical. You'll soon be amazed by the views from the rooftops.

What's even better is that after 9 p.m., you can free access to the top of the A'dam tower. It's a little secret that many people don't know.
