Enough to develop your musical culture, even on vacation!<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone size-large wp-image-1005\" src=\"https:\/\/bonjouramsterdam.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/09\/bimhuis-1024x768.jpg\" alt=\"bimhuis\" width=\"1024\" height=\"768\" srcset=\"https:\/\/bonjouramsterdam.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/09\/bimhuis-1024x768.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/bonjouramsterdam.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/09\/bimhuis-300x225.jpg 300w, https:\/\/bonjouramsterdam.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/09\/bimhuis-768x576.jpg 768w, https:\/\/bonjouramsterdam.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/09\/bimhuis-1536x1152.jpg 1536w, https:\/\/bonjouramsterdam.fr\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/09\/bimhuis.jpg 2048w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/p>\n<h2><a name=\"_Toc146001402\"><\/a><strong>A place dedicated to jazz music<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Conceived by pianist Misha Mengelberg, saxophonist Hans Dufler and percussionist Willem Breuker, Bimhuis was installed in a former furniture store in Oudeschans.<\/p>\n<p>The room, which has been purified right down to the concrete walls and floor, <strong>gave jazz and improv musicians a place of their own.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Bimhuis has attracted many big names to its stage, including :<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Charles Mingus<\/li>\n<li>Pharoah Sanders<\/li>\n<li>Sun Ra<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The venue underwent a major renovation in 1984, transforming it into an amphitheatre, before being moved to its new location in the Muziekgebouw complex in 2005, <strong>close to the <a href=\"https:\/\/bonjouramsterdam.fr\/en\/amsterdam-centraal\/\">main station<\/a>.<\/strong><\/p>\n<h2><a name=\"_Toc146001403\"><\/a><strong>Bimhuis: concerts and shows all year round<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>With up to 300 concerts a year, Bimhuis presents Dutch and international jazz musicians.<\/p>\n<p>The venue is state-of-the-art, with excellent acoustics in all rooms. <strong>its intimate amphitheatre seating just over 200.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>In addition to fabulous music, Bimhuis offers :<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>A magnificent view of the city<\/li>\n<li>A large terrace<\/li>\n<li>A coffee<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Tuesday evenings are jam sessions, and the level of musicianship is exceptional. With the North Sea Jazz Festival, which takes place in Rotterdam every July, many of the world's biggest jazz names also visit the Bimhuis, <strong>so it's the perfect time for a visit.<\/strong><\/p>\n<h2><a name=\"_Toc146001404\"><\/a><strong>A cocktail bar to refresh you<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>On site, you can cool off in the bar and enjoy a range of cocktails. The place has a bit of a speakeasy atmosphere.
