It is also <strong>the world's largest collection of works by Van Gogh.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/bonjouramsterdam.fr\/en\/van-gogh-museum\/\">The museum<\/a> does an excellent job of describing his life, tracing his works from beginning to end so that you can better understand and appreciate his style and evolution.<\/p>\n<p>Opened in 1973, it is one of the city's most popular sites,<strong> but don't let that stop you from visiting.<\/strong><\/p>\n<h2><a name=\"_Toc161958639\"><\/a><strong>Take a detour to the Anne Frank House<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>It's one of the most popular tourist sites in the whole city. It is <a href=\"https:\/\/bonjouramsterdam.fr\/en\/maison-anne-frank\/\">the house where Anne Frank's family<\/a> went into hiding during the Second World War and describes her childhood and life in the attic.<\/p>\n<p>His handwritten diary is also on display. While it's an important and dark place to visit, it's also incredibly crowded.<\/p>\n<p>You simply walk around the house and <strong>never really have time to digest what you see.<\/strong><\/p>\n<h2><a name=\"_Toc161958640\"><\/a><strong>Stay in Amsterdam: take a canal tour<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Amsterdam is a beautiful and picturesque city, thanks to its canals. You can't visit and not do <a href=\"https:\/\/bonjouramsterdam.fr\/en\/boat-trip-on-amsterdams-canals\/\">a tour of the canals<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>There are many different tour options to choose from, depending on your tastes.<\/p>\n<p>Self-guided rentals offer small boats for a more intimate and unique experience. This very affordable option is <strong>perfect for family time on the water<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<h2><a name=\"_Toc161958641\"><\/a><strong>Visit the Rijksmuseum<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Created in 1798, the <a href=\"https:\/\/bonjouramsterdam.fr\/en\/rijksmuseum\/\">Rijksmuseum<\/a> is an art and history museum located right next to the Van Gogh Museum.<\/p>\n<p>The recently renovated museum features an extensive Rembrandt collection, <strong>including the famous painting \"La Ronde de nuit\".<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>In addition to works by Rembrandt, the museum also houses a strong collection of other classic Dutch painters, such as Frans Hals and Johannes Vermeer.<\/p>\n<p>There are over a million objects in the collection, with more than 8,000 on display, <strong>so you can easily spend a few hours there.<\/strong><\/p>\n<h2><a name=\"_Toc161958642\"><\/a><strong>Amsterdam: stop off at the Museum of Eroticism<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Nestled in a former warehouse in the red light district, the <a href=\"https:\/\/bonjouramsterdam.fr\/en\/amsterdam-eroticism-museum\/\">Museum of Eroticism<\/a> presents an exhibition on eroticism in all its forms through the ages.<\/p>\n<p>It contains :<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Sculptures<\/li>\n<li>Paintings<\/li>\n<li>Drawings<\/li>\n<li>Photographs<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Of course, there's also a gift store. <strong>if you want a unique souvenir of the city.<\/strong><\/p>\n<h2><a name=\"_Toc161958643\"><\/a><strong>Relax at Oosterpark<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>If you need to get away from the crowds, go to <a href=\"https:\/\/bonjouramsterdam.fr\/en\/oosterpark-amsterdam\/\">Oosterpark<\/a>. It's a relaxing green space to the east of the city center, perfect for lounging and enjoying a sunny day.<\/p>\n<p>It is much less popular than the popular <a href=\"https:\/\/bonjouramsterdam.fr\/en\/vondelpark\/\">Vondelpark<\/a> and shows you a different, more residential part of the city.<\/p>\n<p>There are sculptures, playgrounds, ponds and <strong>plenty of space for picnics and relaxation.<\/strong><\/p>\n<h2><a name=\"_Toc161958644\"><\/a><strong>Amsterdam: stroll through the red light district<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Unsurprisingly, Amsterdam's red light district is one of the city's main attractions. Although much more docile than in previous years, the <a href=\"https:\/\/bonjouramsterdam.fr\/en\/red-light-district-2\/\">Quartier Rouge<\/a> manages to balance gender with being a major international tourist attraction.<\/p>\n<p>It's pretty calm and quiet during the day, but at night, <strong>the neighborhood is packed with drunken revelers and tourists clogging up the sidewalks.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>You can't enjoy a stay in Amsterdam without making at least one visit from this list.
