So be careful where you leave your bike, and make sure it's in a safe place. <strong>tie it permanently.<\/strong><\/p>\n<h3><strong>Signs for cyclists<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Amsterdam has a strict policy on bicycle parking. Every year, hundreds of thousands of bicycles are stolen, especially in the big cities.<\/p>\n<p>Whether you're popping into a store or enjoying a refreshing drink on a terrace,<strong> leaving your bike unlocked is never a good idea<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Anyone could grab your bike and ride away.<\/p>\n<p>If you're bringing your own bike to Amsterdam, make sure it's <strong>equipped with good locks and use them at all times.<\/strong><\/p>\n<h2><a name=\"_Toc162116334\"><\/a><strong>Leave your bike in a guarded parking lot<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Bicycle theft is a real problem in central Amsterdam. Even if you've locked your bike, you may not find it when you get back.<\/p>\n<p>If you have an expensive bike or rent one for your vacation, <strong>It's best to use one of the supervised bike parks.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Please note that it is not possible to reserve a space in advance.
