Here it is!<\/p>\n<h3>What's it for?<\/h3>\n<p>Ov Chipkaart is <strong>a rechargeable transport card<\/strong> which saves users the hassle of buying individual tickets for their journeys. You can also buy them at tobacconists and in certain stores.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Good to know<\/strong>\u00a0the official platform <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ov-chipkaart.nl\/en\/service-points-finder\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">a device<\/a> to help you locate the nearest sales outlet.<\/p>\n<p>Alternatively, you can order a card with your first and last names online, which is more attractive for residents than for tourists.<\/p>\n<h3>Anonymous OV Chipkaart and personal OV-chipkaart: what's the difference?<\/h3>\n<p>There are two types of Chipkaart OV: the Anonymous version and the Personal version.<\/p>\n<p>The first (<strong>OV Chipkaart Anonymous<\/strong>) is best suited to <a href=\"https:\/\/bonjouramsterdam.fr\/en\/stay-in-amsterdam\/\">a touristic stay<\/a>It can be shared between several travelers, and recharged with small amounts.<\/p>\n<p>The second (<strong>Personal OV-chipkaart<\/strong>) is a personalized transport card featuring your photo and contact details. It can only be purchased online, and is mainly intended for local people\/long-term residents.<br \/>\n<a name=\"3\"><\/a><\/p>\n<h2>How does the OV Chipkaart work?<\/h2>\n<p>This transport card is very easy to use! Please read the following information to be prepared for any eventuality.<\/p>\n<h3>Reload balance<\/h3>\n<p>Simply go to a kiosk or point of sale. <strong>to credit the desired balance to the OV Chipkaart card<\/strong>via your credit card. You can even pay \u20ac10, \u20ac20, \u20ac30 or \u20ac50, depending on your needs and your propensity to use public transport.<\/p>\n<p>The minimum amount required for a trip is <strong>4\u20ac<\/strong> (for public transport) and <strong>20\u20ac<\/strong> if you travel on the NS network. This acts as a deposit.<\/p>\n<h3>Validation<\/h3>\n<p>Paging the card <strong>in and out<\/strong> of each transport, so that it can be debited.<\/p>\n<p>The rate is <a href=\"https:\/\/bonjouramsterdam.fr\/en\/public-transport-prices-amsterdam\/\">that in force on the network<\/a>with a <em>Pay as you go<\/em> You pay per journey with a basic rate, then according to the distance travelled, based on the rates in force by zone\/city\/region.<\/p>\n<h3>What are the risks of traveling without a ticket?<\/h3>\n<p>Any violation can cost you dearly, with a fine of up to <strong>50\u20ac + travel price<\/strong>. Negotiations are out of the question here, as the agents will be uncompromising.<\/p>\n<p>Good to know: from the age of 4, you have to pay for public transport.<\/p>\n<h3>What to do with the remaining balance?<\/h3>\n<p>You can <strong>recover remaining balance on OV ChipKaart<\/strong>by performing <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ov-chipkaart.nl\/en\/credit-refund\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">a request on the official website<\/a>. You'll need the card number, an IBAN, a valid email address and the card's expiry date.<\/p>\n<p>Please note that the card expires 5 years after first use.<\/p>\n<h3>Other ways to pay for transport in Amsterdam?<\/h3>\n<p>It has recently become possible to pay directly with your bank card on public transport (via the <strong>OVPAY<\/strong>). A practical, contactless solution that requires no registration or installation.<\/p>\n<p>To view expenses and associated charges, simply download the OVPay application, available from the PlayStore and AppStore.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Good to know<\/strong> Paying in cash is becoming increasingly difficult in public transport.
