It's time to hop on a boat.<\/p>\n<p>If there's one thing to do in Amsterdam as a tourist, it's to take a tour. <a href=\"https:\/\/bonjouramsterdam.fr\/en\/amsterdam-cruise\/\">canal cruise<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>It's the best way to admire the city and get a glimpse of its famous picturesque canals. What's more, you can book some really exciting outings.<\/p>\n<p>For example, you can enjoy a cruise that serves wine and cheese while you cruise. You can also find cruises that serve pizza along the way.<\/p>\n<p>However, I'd advise you to get there in the evening. It's a unique place, and so it must be, <strong>in Amsterdam.<\/strong><\/p>\n<h2><a name=\"_Toc139976477\"><\/a><strong>Amsterdam must: Stroopwafels<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>On a trip to Amsterdam, there's nothing better than <strong>perfection that is Dutch Stroopwafel.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>If there's one delicacy you must try in Amsterdam, make sure it's this one!<\/p>\n<p>Stroopwafels are a very thin cookie-like treat. It's made by sandwiching two thin wafers with caramel in the middle. Absolutely delicious, to be eaten while still warm.<\/p>\n<h2><a name=\"_Toc139976478\"><\/a><strong>Discover the Rijksmuseum<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Now let's get down to some culture, starting with what is probably Amsterdam's most famous cultural institution: the <a href=\"https:\/\/bonjouramsterdam.fr\/en\/rijksmuseum\/\">Rijksmuseum<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The Rijksmuseum is to Amsterdam what the Louvre is to Paris. It's an astonishing collection of over 8,000 pieces representing centuries of Dutch art and history.<\/p>\n<p>If you don't have much time in Amsterdam, I recommend stopping off to admire the building's exterior. Its architecture is<strong> simply magnificent.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>If you prefer modern art, the <a href=\"https:\/\/bonjouramsterdam.fr\/en\/stedelijk-museum\/\">Stedelijk Museum<\/a> nearby is perhaps more appropriate. It is dedicated to modern art and design, with many bold and interesting installations.<\/p>\n<h2><a name=\"_Toc139976479\"><\/a><strong>A must-see in Amsterdam: the Van Gogh Museum<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Just a stone's throw from the Rijksmuseum, you'll find another of Amsterdam's cultural must-sees: the <a href=\"https:\/\/bonjouramsterdam.fr\/en\/van-gogh-museum\/\">Van Gogh museum.<\/a><\/p>\n<p>It's a place I'd recommend to anyone who's a fan of his work. After all, it's the world's largest collection of his work, with hundreds of paintings, drawings and letters.<\/p>\n<p>Here, you'll have the opportunity to enjoy some of the most famous and celebrated paintings in history. What's more, they are all contextualized with texts on the story of Van Gogh's life. <strong>when creating each canvas.<\/strong><\/p>\n<h2><a name=\"_Toc139976480\"><\/a><strong>Stop off at the Anne Frank House<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Of course, this wouldn't be a list of must-see experiences in Amsterdam if I didn't mention the famous <a href=\"https:\/\/bonjouramsterdam.fr\/en\/maison-anne-frank\/\">Anne Frank House<\/a>. It's by far one of the city's most solemn and important places.<\/p>\n<p>Anne Frank was a Jewish girl of German origin living in Amsterdam when the Nazis invaded the city. She then spent two years hiding with her family in tiny rooms in her father's workplace.<\/p>\n<p>She kept a diary during this period, which was published posthumously by her father, the only family member to survive the war.<\/p>\n<p>This book is one of the best-known in the world. When you're in Amsterdam, you can <strong>visit the building and rooms where Anne spent the years of her life in hiding.<\/strong><\/p>\n<h2><a name=\"_Toc139976481\"><\/a><strong>Take a tour of the nine streets<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>The nine streets are located in the <a href=\"https:\/\/bonjouramsterdam.fr\/en\/jordaan-district-amsterdam\/\">Jordaan<\/a> in the middle of the canal section of the UNESCO World Heritage Site.<\/p>\n<p>This district is most popular for its many independent boutiques, art galleries and cozy caf\u00e9s, making it a prime destination for shopping or simply window-shopping.<\/p>\n<p>Many businesses are located in traditional houses, making it much more charming than other downtown shopping areas.<\/p>\n<h2><a name=\"_Toc139976482\"><\/a><strong>Enjoy a quiet moment at Begijnhof<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>The Hofs are essentially small gardens surrounded by houses, and the Begijnhof is one of Amsterdam's finest and most famous.<\/p>\n<p>It was built in the Middle Ages, which means it's below modern street level, so you pass through a small arch and descend into a garden hidden from the surrounding busy streets.<\/p>\n<p>This hof was home to religious women who lived together in a community, but took no vows and had more freedom than nuns.<\/p>\n<p>There are two churches located in this area, one of which was built as a secret church after the first was confiscated during the Protestant takeover of Amsterdam in 1578.<\/p>\n<p>Today, you can visit one of these beautiful churches or simply <strong>enjoy the peace and quiet of the small garden.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>There are many must-see places to visit in Amsterdam.
