My advice is to find out what you're planning to buy. <a href=\"https:\/\/bonjouramsterdam.fr\/en\/what-to-do-in-amsterdam\/\">in the city<\/a>and choose the parking lot immediately afterwards.<\/p>\n<p>Don't forget to <strong>check schedules<\/strong>Some parking lots close at night or at weekends. It may be a good idea to choose a parking lot with unlimited entry and exit by magnetic card, for greater flexibility, particularly in the case of early or late flights.<br \/>\n<a name=\"5\"><\/a><\/p>\n<h2><strong>What other parking solutions are available in Amsterdam?<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>For me, reserving a secure parking lot online is a must. <strong>the most attractive solution<\/strong>there are two other options that might appeal to you.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Street parking lots<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>There are 55 parking zones in the city, but as I said earlier, it's very difficult to find a space, not to say a parking space. <strong>impossible<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>If by some miracle you find a free parking space in town, it will cost you on average <strong>5 euros\/hour<\/strong>. And don't even think about cheating, because parking police patrols are frequent and ruthless!<\/p>\n<p>A fine starts at 50 euros (for exceeding the time limit) and can rise to 300 euros if the vehicle is moved!<\/p>\n<h3><strong>The Park And Ride option<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>On the outskirts of the city, you will find park-and-ride facilities called <strong>Parkeren en Reizen<\/strong> (Park and Ride). There are a dozen of them scattered around the 4 corners of the capital, and they can be a viable alternative for parking outside the center.<\/p>\n<p>The basic rate is \u20ac1.40 to \u20ac3.50\/hour, but you can buy a parking + public transport card on site to reduce the bill a little.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>Your home's parking spaces<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Some travellers don't think about it, but your accommodation may have <strong>one parking space<\/strong>. Ask your Airbnb host or hotel. Bear in mind, however, that hotel parking lots often charge a fee, and the bill can be hefty. So compare online parking rates before you accept!<br \/>\n<a name=\"6\"><\/a><\/p>\n<h2><strong>Amsterdam parking tips and regulations<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Now that you know where and how to park in Amsterdam, I'll give you a few rules and tips for <strong>getting around the city<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Be aware that driving in Amsterdam is complicated, especially if you're not used to driving between <strong>pedestrians and cyclists<\/strong>. You'll need to be extremely vigilant.<\/p>\n<p>Parking is limited to <strong>a few hours<\/strong> in the city center, and free parking lots are not guarded.
