It is the world's largest floral park in terms of surface area, with its <strong>32 hectares<\/strong> on which are distributed <strong>7 million tulips<\/strong>\u00a0!<\/p>\n<h3>Keukenhof Floral Park presentation<\/h3>\n<p>The Keukenhof floral park is located in the village of <strong>Smooth<\/strong>about 30 km from Amsterdam. Its name means <em>kitchen courtyard<\/em> and it comes from the use made of it by <strong>Jacqueline of Bavaria<\/strong> in the 15th century. The Countess used it as a vegetable garden!<\/p>\n<p>During the <strong>Nineteenth century<\/strong> that the owners at the time, Baron and Baroness Van Pallandt, decided to entrust the restructuring to architects David and Louis-Paul Zocher (father and son), who drew their inspiration from <strong>the english gardens<\/strong>. He still has that style today.<\/p>\n<p>From 1949, <strong>Keukenhof<\/strong> hosts exhibitions by growers and sellers of bulbous flowers (like the tulip!) and opens to the public. <strong>in 1950<\/strong>. It was a great success, with over 200,000 visitors in its first year!<\/p>\n<p>This vast floral park is now home to up to <strong>1.4 million<\/strong> <strong>of visitors<\/strong> every spring. Departure is from <a href=\"https:\/\/bonjouramsterdam.fr\/en\/this-is-holland\/\">This Is Holland<\/a>in Amsterdam's northern district (Overhoeksplein 51, 1031 KS Amsterdam).<\/p>\n<p>But there are several other ways to reach the park:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Visit <strong>bus<\/strong>via lines 341 and 397 from Amsterdam, changing at Hoofddorp station for bus 859 to Keukenhof<\/li>\n<li>Via a <strong>express shuttle<\/strong> since <a href=\"https:\/\/bonjouramsterdam.fr\/en\/schiphol\/\">Schiphol<\/a> which connects the airport to Keukenhof<\/li>\n<li>Visit <strong>car<\/strong>because a <a href=\"https:\/\/bonjouramsterdam.fr\/en\/parking-amsterdam\/\">parking<\/a> is provided for parking.
