On this street you'll find Cafe Georgette,<strong> one of my favorite places in all of Amsterdam.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Caf\u00e9 Georgette has only been around for a few years. It's a Parisian-themed caf\u00e9, serving breakfast, lunch and delicious coffees and pastries.<\/p>\n<p>Once you have done this, go to the <a href=\"https:\/\/bonjouramsterdam.fr\/en\/rijksmuseum\/\">Rijksmuseum<\/a>the <a href=\"https:\/\/bonjouramsterdam.fr\/en\/van-gogh-museum\/\">Van Gogh museum<\/a> and the <a href=\"https:\/\/bonjouramsterdam.fr\/en\/vondelpark\/\">Vondelpark<\/a>all just a few steps from Caf\u00e9 Georgette! Did you know that Amsterdam has over 100 km of canals? The city is made up of 90 islands and 1,500 bridges.<\/p>\n<p>Amsterdam's canal district <strong>designed in the late 16th century and built in the 17th century<\/strong>. The original idea was for water management and defense, eventually becoming an excellent means of local transport.<\/p>\n<p>See <a href=\"https:\/\/bonjouramsterdam.fr\/en\/amsterdam-cruise\/\">Amsterdam from a boat<\/a> will offer you the most beautiful view imaginable.<\/p>\n<h2><a name=\"_Toc143391235\"><\/a><strong>Amsterdam's must-sees: rent a bike to explore the city<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Visit <a href=\"https:\/\/bonjouramsterdam.fr\/en\/velo-amsterdam\/\">bike<\/a>You can see so much in less time than if you had to walk.<\/p>\n<p>Some people think that the only way to really discover Amsterdam is by bike. Amsterdam is a cycling city. They are literally everywhere. Cyclists are highly respected. In general, <strong>you'll feel safe on your bike in this city.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>I recommend renting a bike during your stay. Anne is one of the most talked-about Jewish victims of the Holocaust, and her former hiding place is one of Amsterdam's most popular monuments.<\/p>\n<p>Anne and her family hid in a secret annex above her father's business on Westermarkt from 1942 to 1944, when they were discovered. Visit <a href=\"https:\/\/bonjouramsterdam.fr\/en\/maison-anne-frank\/\">Anne Frank House<\/a>as it is now called, has been transformed into a museum that you can visit in Amsterdam.<\/p>\n<h2><a name=\"_Toc143391237\"><\/a><strong>Amsterdam must-sees: enjoy the Albert Cuyp market<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>The Albert Cuyp Market is an open-air market selling everything from fish and waffles to clothes and souvenirs. Locals call it <a href=\"https:\/\/bonjouramsterdam.fr\/en\/albert-cuypmarkt\/\">Albert Cuypmarkt<\/a> and has been around since 1905.<\/p>\n<p>Grab a coffee and a snack at one of the stands and spend an hour or two browsing all the products. It's fun to <strong>and do your shopping in the open air.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>When you've finished, head for the<a href=\"https:\/\/bonjouramsterdam.fr\/en\/heineken-experience\/\"> Heineken Experience<\/a>. It's about a 3-minute walk and one of the most popular things to do in Amsterdam.<\/p>\n<h2><a name=\"_Toc143391238\"><\/a><strong>Enjoy a room with a view of the Canal<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>Wherever you stay, you absolutely must stay in a room with a canal view. Waking up in the morning to the most stereotypically unique views in Amsterdam is<strong>\u00a0the best way to start your day.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>You can watch dozens of people pass by your window on their bikes. There are also trucks unloading food and other things in restaurants and parents taking their children to school. It's a really great experience!<\/p>\n<h2><a name=\"_Toc143391239\"><\/a><strong>Amsterdam must-sees: visit the red light district<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>De Wallen, better known as <a href=\"https:\/\/bonjouramsterdam.fr\/en\/red-light-district\/\">Red Light District<\/a>The Red Light District is the oldest part of the city. The name \"Red Light District\" comes from the red lights that <strong>illuminate the windows where the prostitutes work.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>You can visit it on your own by walking down this street, but I recommend arranging a tour so you can learn more about the history of sex work and the red light district with a professional and knowledgeable guide.<\/p>\n<p>The Red Light District is an important part of <strong>Amsterdam's history and development, and is well worth a visit.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>There are many must-sees in Amsterdam. During your visit, you'll be able to learn more about local life.
