It's a true Art Deco masterpiece: the murals, the dome, the lights and even the carpet are breathtaking.<\/p>\n<p>The reception area is open to the public, so even if you're just passing through, I'd recommend taking a look inside.<\/p>\n<p>In terms of architecture, the Tuschinski is almost the exact opposite of the contemporary EYE Filmmuseum, Amsterdam's other favorite cinema for tourists and locals alike.<\/p>\n<p>Yet they have something in common. It's a little more expensive, <strong>but a drink and a snack are included in the price.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Most films in the Netherlands are subtitled, so the sound is usually the original.<\/p>\n<p>Before entering the auditorium, take a stroll through the ornate corridors surrounding the main auditorium.<\/p>\n<h2><a name=\"_Toc143502673\"><\/a><strong>Take the audio tour<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p>If you're not a big cinema fan, or just don't have the time to go to a movie, you can take an audio tour in the morning. This is a 45-minute tour that <strong>tells the story of the Tushinsky Theater. <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>You'll discover secrets about its founder and architecture. During the tour, you can even enter the VIP room where Tom Cruise, Richard Gere and Carice van Houten drank their champagne at film premieres.<\/p>\n<p>The audio tour is available in Dutch and English for \u20ac10.
